Level 2 Diploma in Culinary Arts & Restaurant Service
Introduction
This hands on one-year programme is designed for learners who aspire to work as professional chefs or front-of-house restaurant staff. The course develops essential culinary and service skills through a combination of practical training and theoretical knowledge, preparing students for a successful career in the hospitality industry.
Learners will study a range of culinary techniques and restaurant service units, gaining a solid understanding of the operational aspects of professional kitchens and dining environments. As part of the course, students also gain valuable real-world experience working in the college’s onsite restaurant, which operates twice weekly, allowing them to apply and refine the skills learned in class.
With a strong emphasis on practical learning and assessment, this course is particularly suited to learners who thrive in active, hands-on environments and prefer to learn through doing. It’s the ideal stepping stone for those looking to progress into further training or enter the hospitality industry directly.
