CPCAB Level 2 Introduction to Counselling Skills
Introduction
This accredited 10-week course is ideal for individuals who want to develop foundational counselling skills to support others in either a voluntary or professional capacity. It goes beyond a basic taster, offering an insightful and useful introduction to the core principles of counselling and preparing learners for progression onto further training within the Highlands College counselling programme. Or just taking away those new skills for use in your current work.
The course focuses on essential skills such as active listening, empathy, and self-awareness, and provides valuable insight into the counselling process. It is accredited by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) and recognised within the National Qualifications Framework by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).
This course involves a high level of personal reflection and disclosure, and is not suitable for individuals currently experiencing severe emotional distress or psychological confusion.
