Jersey International Future Skills Framework (JIFS)

The Jersey International Future Skills Framework (JIFS) aims to provide students from the Highlands College Sixth Form with skills, knowledge and experiences which will enhance opportunities post-College and be advantageous to future success. Although this framework is owned by and unique to Jersey, it has been developed in partnership with City & Guilds and the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), drawing on international best practice from jurisdictions including Finland, Germany, and Canada. The framework benchmarks OECD 2030 future learning competencies, incorporating and addressing articles from UNICEF’s Rights Respecting school program.

Sitting alongside our existing Level 3 provision the course will take a total of 180 hours to complete, and will facilitate student planning, action, and reflection through an instructive coaching model.

Assessments will be competency based, with specific end-of-module assessment as and when requested. For each module successfully completed, students will receive a City and Guilds or ILM digital credential.
