Course Details
We will explore a different theme in and through the body. We will start by taking time to connect, relaxing and sensing how our bodies feel, areas of tension as well as ease. We will be led to adjust and release to enable greater freedom for movement. We will then by guided to respond to a theme. These may be movement concepts – the opposing dimensions of rising and falling, opening and closing, advancing and retreating for example – or more abstract ideas – such as colours, or the elements (fire, water, air and earth). We will explore the ‘felt’ response to these different themes, considering the sensations that arise, giving the body time and space to move and respond accordingly. If a ‘dance’ occurs we will make time for that, incorporating music to enhance the experience. Time will be given at the end to reflect on the session either verbally or through written/artistic expression. Please bring a mat (if you have one), a water bottle and a notebook (if you would like). Additional mats will be available on a first come first served basis.£28
