LSBU BSc (Hons) Construction Management – Year 1

Who is this course for:
This course is aimed at those individuals who wish to pursue a professional career and/or a Higher Technician level career within the Construction Industry and covers many construction career pathways but specifically in construction management.
The course seeks to provide you with the breadth of technical and managerial expertise in construction, and an up-to-date knowledge in legislation and regulations. The course intends to provide forefront education for our graduates to face exciting and demanding challenges as leaders of a multi-disciplinary project team, and also provides the opportunity to use modern equipment within a well-resourced environment. The knowledge gained enables you to have the confidence to work with other professionals and to deliver in complex project or process environments.

How long is this course and when does it run?
The programme will be a minimum of two years duration on a day release basis commencing September/October 2025. Candidates will need approval and support from their employers to attend on the relevant days
The course is run at Highlands College and a Block Week away at the end of the first year at London South Bank University.

What are the entry requirements?
Candidates must preferably be working in an appropriate section of the Construction Industry at the time of application. All candidates will be interviewed to assess their suitability for the programme, but it is expected that as a minimum they would have one or more of the following qualifications:
• BTEC National Diploma DMM or HNC in Building Studies or Construction with a Merit profile, or;
• Access to HE qualifications with 45 merits or;
• Equivalent Level 3 qualifications worth 112 UCAS points
• Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English
• We also consider applications from those who have gained relevant skills through a wide range of vocational qualifications or relevant industrial experience
• All candidates will be interviewed by the University to assess suitability for the programme.

B Sc (Hons) Construction Management from London South Bank University

What does this course lead on to?
Graduates can further their studies in MSc Construction Project Management or seek to gain professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Building.
