Who is this course for?
This course meets the needs of learners who want to work as a Plumber/Heating Engineer: installing systems and equipment in buildings, structures and the environment within the Plumbing and Heating Industry.
What are the entry requirements for the course?
Course participants should preferably be employed in the Plumbing and Heating industry and preferably have GCSE grades ‘C-D’ (or equivalent) including Maths, English and Science.
How long is this course?
A part-time course for a minimum of two years, commencing September 2021.
Mode of attendance is day release.
Monday: 8.30am to 4.30pm.
What will I study on this course?
- Safe working practices in building services engineering.
- Theory and principles relating to the installation and maintenance of domestic Plumbing and Heating systems including: cold water, hot water, heating and sanitation.
What Qualification will I gain?
Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Studies.
Will I go out on work experience?
Course participants should preferably be employed in the Plumbing and Heating industry already.
How is the course assessed?
By successful completion of a mix of online tests and externally set examinations, in addition to practical tests.
What does this course lead on to?
Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing Studies.
