Who is this course for?
This course is designed to help apprentices understand how the basic systems of a car work, and introduces you to some complex vehicle systems including fuel injection and other electronic systems.
What are the entry requirements for the course?
- 4 GCSEs at Grade D including English, Maths and Science.
- Employed within the Motor Industry.
How long is this course?
A two-year part-time course beginning September 2021.
One day per week: – 8.30am to 6.30pm.
What will I study on this course?
The course comprises of units covering Engine Technology, Electrical and Electronic Fault Finding, Transmission Steering and Suspension Systems.
The course includes both theoretical and practical input and assessment is carried out in a variety of ways.
What Qualification will I gain?
IMIAL Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles.
Will I go out on work experience?
Candidates will already be employed within the Motor Industry.
How is the course assessed?
By successful completion of continuous practical assessment, written test, and online tests.
What does this course lead on to?
IMIAL Level 3 Technical Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
