Level 2 JPQ Diploma in Automotive Studies

Introduction

The NCFE JPQ Diploma in Automotive Studies offers a comprehensive introduction to the automotive industry, helping learners build essential knowledge and hands-on skills across a variety of key areas. This one-year, full-time course is ideal for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the motor vehicle sector and want to progress into an apprenticeship or further training.

Students will attend college up to four days per week, taking part in a mix of practical workshops and theoretical lessons. The curriculum covers a broad range of industry-relevant topics, including:

  • Four-stroke engine technology
  • Automotive working practices
  • Light vehicle electrical and electronic systems
  • Light vehicle brakes, steering, and tyres
  • Light vehicle servicing

Starting in September, this course provides the foundational knowledge and experience needed to move confidently into a career in automotive technology or a related apprenticeship pathway.
