Introduction

The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner is a one-year apprenticeship for individuals currently working with children aged 0–7 years who wish to gain a recognised, nationally accredited qualification in early years care and education. This course is suitable for those seeking to formalise their experience and progress within the childcare sector.

Part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), this diploma forms an integral part of the Early Years Apprenticeship offer. It supports the development of essential knowledge and practical skills required to work effectively in early years settings, helping learners contribute to the care, learning, and development of young children.

Entry requirements

A satisfactory Police Check and reference must be provided by your employer completed prior to acceptance on this course.

No formal qualifications are required, but candidates must be working in the sector (paid or voluntary) with children 0-7 years for a minimum of 2 days a week (or 15 hours).

A good level of literacy is needed. 

All candidates will need access to a PC or laptop. 

All potential learners must be interviewed to determine suitability to be assessed in their place of work.  Strict entry requirements apply.
