Painting for Beginners

Introduction

This nine-week course is for students with little-to-no previous painting experience. During this course, students will learn to paint with confidence - even if you’ve never picked up a brush.

This course is your gateway into the world of painting. Designed for absolute beginners, it gently guides you through the fundamentals while encouraging self-expression and creativity. You’ll learn how to mix colours, handle brushes, and build up a painting from start to finish, no drawing or art background required.

Each week introduces a new techniques or themes, from colour blending and layering to painting simple still life, landscapes, and even expressive abstracts.

You’ll gain the skills and confidence to continue painting long after the course ends!

This course is being held at the Philip Mourant Centre with Lisa MacDonald.
