NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People (ONLINE)

Who is this course for?

Designed for people who wish to gain a basic understanding of working with children and young people.

This is an ideal first step into learning about the needs and development of children and it is designed to encourage participation and develop confidence, knowledge and skill. 

There are online assessments with this course and you will achieve a NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People.

 

What are the entry requirements for the course?

A genuine interest in finding out the basic essentials of childcare and a good knowledge of English is advisable.

Minimum age of 16 years.

All learners will need access to a PC or laptop.

 

How long is this course?

An online self-study qualification which should take no longer than 3-6 months to complete. 

Applications can be made at any time throughout the year. 

Please note that your details may be placed on a waiting list as there is a maximum number of learners at any one time. 

 

What will I study on this course?

Learners must gain 16 credits to complete the certificate.

The content will include:

  • safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
  • young children’s development
  • the value of play to young children
  • importance of play for early learning
  • use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet

 

What Qualification will I gain?

Online assessment will gain you a NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People.

 

How is the course assessed?

A workbook is completed online and assessed by one of our vocationally qualified assessors.

 

What does this course lead on to?

Possible progression onto Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce; Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) (QCF); or Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning.

 

How much will it cost?

£466 – this includes registration with NCFE CACHE (the awarding body), assessment and verification costs. 

Please note, however, if assessment exceeds a total of 5 hours or takes longer than 6 months, additional charges may occur.
