This qualification is aimed at a range of learners who are thinking of working in a school or college setting, including young people, mature learners, learners with special educational needs, or where English is an additional language. (childcare)

 

What are the entry requirements for the course?

Good standard of English will be required. 

 

How long is this course?

What will I study on this course?

The qualification is an introduction to the knowledge and understanding needed to work in a school or college environment. Study programme includes child development, safeguarding. understanding schools as organisations, health and safety, equality and diversity and many more.

NCFE CACHE Level 2 Award in Support Work in  Schools and Colleges 

 

Will I go out on work experience?

No work experience is required on this course. 

 

How is the course assessed?

Through written assignments. 

 

What does this course lead on to?

It can apply to the many varied roles that full and part time support staff may fulfil including administrative roles, site support roles, technical roles and volunteers, as well as roles that work directly with children and young people in the learning environment. Students can progress onto the level 3.  

 

How much will it cost?

This course is funded through the Government of Jersey’s Fiscal Stimulus
