Dear Parents and Carers,
We have just received the following updated advice from the Government of Jersey:
We are regularly updating public advice on the prevention and reduction of the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), which can be found at www.gov.je/coronavirus
We reiterate that the following advice should be read carefully by teachers and parents, as the advice to schools is exactly the same as the advice to everyone else. Unless a student has been in one of the specified areas in the list below which requires self-isolation, they can and should go to school or college as normal.
People arriving from countries that require self-isolation
Anyone arriving from any of the following places MUST self-isolate for 14 days from departure, even if you don’t have symptoms:
If you develop fever or cough or difficulty breathing, please continue to self-isolate and self-refer via the helpline on 01534 445566.
People arriving from other affected areas
Anyone arriving from other affected countries (listed below) is being advised to take no action and to carry on normally if they do not have any symptoms.
If they do develop symptoms of fever or cough or difficulty breathing within 14 days of departure they should self-isolate and self-refer via the helpline on 01534 445566.
If they feel very unwell, they are advised to call 999 for an ambulance and explain their symptoms and travel history. They are asked NOT to visit their GP or the Emergency Department without contacting them first.
The affected countries are:

We appreciative of your support and want to reassure you that we are taking additional precautionary measures in relation to hygiene to protect our community.
