On Wednesday 27th June from 4-7pm, Highlands College will be opening its doors for a College-wide open evening. The event, sponsored by MasonBreese, is a chance for the public to visit the campus, meet staff and students, and experience a taster of the vast range of learning opportunities on offer – from degree courses to evening classes. After a successful inaugural event last year, Highlands College invites students of the future, their families and friends, alumni and the local business community to find out more about their life-long learning options.
The event will feature live demonstrations, showing visitors the outstanding standard of practical learning that takes place at the College. Whether you are a school leaver, looking to upskill, learn something new or enhance your career; Highlands College has something for everyone.
The College-wide departments include:
6th Form College Jersey: Students from all Jersey secondary schools are invited to find out how they can pursue outstanding vocational qualifications and specialist routes to Higher Education and apprenticeships. 6th Form College Jersey is the leading provider of Further Education in Jersey for 16 to 18-year-olds, with 42% of secondary school students in Jersey progressing to Highlands College.
University College Jersey: University College Jersey (UCJ) is the Higher Education Department of Highlands College. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit UCJ and speak with staff about how our students benefit from small class sizes, inspiring teachers, work-based learning and outstanding standards of pastoral care. This year, UCJ formed an exciting education partnership with MasonBreese, enabling the department to raise its profile through several student-focussed initiatives and promotional activity, including the UCJ Graduation Ceremony. The UCJ team has been delivering degree level education to Jersey students for over 20 years, and the department has grown to accommodate more than 200 full and part-time students. Degrees are delivered in partnership with UK universities (Plymouth University and London South Bank University) and, year on year, UCJ degree students achieve academic results which far exceed the UK average.
Highlands Professional: Our Highlands Professional team will be on hand at our Professional Studies Centre to discuss your professional development options. Highlands Professional delivers programmes to support Managers and Team Leaders throughout their professional development, providing the highest quality of delivery and support to help achieve CPD goals. Highlands Professional also offer a range of accredited courses including CMI, CIPD, IAB, PRINCE2, and the Certificate of Offshore Administration.
