Who is this course for?

This 10 week taster course will give you the opportunity to gain an insight into the factors that affect health and social care. An understanding of local service provision may help you to decide if a career in this field is for you. You will be taught by profession health and care practitioners from a range of backgrounds and experience.

 

What are the entry requirements for the course?

A genuine interest in finding out the basic essentials of community based care. 

Minimum age of 18 years.

 

How long is this course?

This is a 10 week part-time course on Monday evenings starting Monday 15th January 2018 from 7-9pm (excluding half term week)
(This course will only run if there are sufficient numbers)

 

What will I study on this course?

Introductions to:

Communication

The role fo the care worker

Health and safety

Equality and diversity

Infection control

Care of common disorders

Progression

Healthy living

 

What Qualification will I gain?

College Certificate on completition of course, with 100% attendance. 

This is not a formal qualification.

 

How is the course assessed?

There is no formal assessment.  A certificate will be given if attendance is 100%.

£167 – all costs subject to confirmation and may increase
