Who is this course for?
Intended for any staff member employed in a food and catering environment.
What are the entry requirements for the course?
No particular requirements other than being employed in a food environment. A good understanding of English language is required.
How long is this course?
A part-time course delivered over 3 weeks or 1 day (Sept 18).
Course A: Wednesday 30 January 2019 – Wednesday 13 February. Time 5.00pm – 8.00pm (Exam in the last hour of the final session).
Course B: Wednesday 29 May 2019 – Wednesday 12 June. Time 5.00pm – 8.00pm (Exam in the last hour of the final session).
What will I study on this course?
Introduction to Food Safety; The Law; Food Safety Hazards; Temperature Control; Food Handling; Cleaning and Disinfection; Food Premises and Equipment.
Please note that 100% attendance is vital in order to be eligible to sit the exam.
What Qualification will I gain?
Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering.
How is the course assessed?
Written examination (multiple choice questions).
What does this course lead on to?
Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering Level 3.
