Intended for any staff member employed in a food and catering environment
What are the entry requirements for the course?
No particular requirements other than being employed in a food environment. A good understanding of English language is required.
How long is this course?
A 9 hour part-time course delivered over 3 weeks
Course A:Wednesday 4th October 2017 – Wednesday 18th October 2017. Time 2.00pm – 5.00pm (Exam in the last hour of the final session)
Course B: Wednesday 24th January 2018 – Wednesday 7th February 2018. Time 4.00pm – 7.00pm (Exam in the last hour of the final session)
Course C: Wednesday 16th May 2018 – Wednesday 30th May 2018. Time 4.00pm – 7.00pm (Exam in the last hour of the final session)
What will I study on this course?
Introduction to Food Safety; The Law; Food Safety Hazards; Temperature Control; Food Handling; Cleaning and Disinfection; Food Premises and Equipment.
Please note that 100% attendance is vital in order to be eligible to sit the exam.

Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering
How is the course assessed?
Written examination (multiple choice questions)
What does this course lead on to?
Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering Level 3
