Highlands College Certificate in Hairstyling and Make-up

Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for those who would like to learn the art of styling hair and make-up. The course includes a wide range of current techniques including plaiting, twisting, curling, straightening and creating all those styles that you love but are unable to do yourself. The course is delivered by commercial stylists and includes many tricks of the trade!

As well as learning to create great hair, you will also learn some fantastic make-up techniques, including applying lashes and creating both daytime and evening looks for those special nights out!




What are the entry requirements for the course?

Candidates should be over 18 with a keen interest in hairdressing and make-up.



How long is this course?

A 12 week part-time course beginning September 2017.

Dates: Tuesday 12th September 2017  – Tuesday 5th December 2017

Time: 10.00 – 1.00pm

  • Shampoo and condition hair
  • Styling techniques
  • Plaiting and twisting techniques
  • Using heated appliances to curl and straighten hair
  • Dressing hair
  • Make -up
  • Creating a commercial look for day and evening

How is the course assessed?

Practical assessment + end of course event

Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy apprenticeship

Certificate in Gel Nails


How much will it cost?

£340.00 payable on enrolment – fees are non-refundable

plus a basic brush kit and make-up brushes – order forms will be given on enrolment.
