Who is this course for?

A beginner’s course suitable for everyone who wants to serve great coffee: from complete novices right through to seasoned professionals.


What are the entry requirements for the course?

Good comprehension of the English language


How long is this course?

A three and a half hour interactive workshop on the following dates:

Time:    2.00pm to 5.30pm

Course A: Monday 6th November 2017

Course B: Monday 29th January 2018

Course C: Monday 25th June 2018



What will I study on this course?

• Health & Safety in coffee making • Introduction to Espresso Coffee basics • The Tools you need and effective operation of equipment • How to make great Cappuccinos and Lattes through the successful handling of milk • How to recognise a problem before your customer does


What Qualification will I gain?

A Highlands College Certificate on completion of the course


How is the course assessed?

Written assessment (multiple choice)


What does this course lead on to?

City & Guilds Certificate/Diploma in Food & Beverage Service (full-time or day release)
