Who is this course for?
The Advanced bar service skills course is a two-day course for people who are seeking to develop their knowledge and skills in serving alcoholic beverages. This course is suitable for those with prior practical experience serving drinks and/or who have successfully completed the Basic bar service skills course.
What are the entry requirements for the course?
Good comprehension of the English Language, basic knowledge and prior practical experience of bar service.
How long is this course?
Twelve hour interactive workshop delivered over two days on the following dates:
Time: 9.30am to 4.30pm
Friday 14th June and Monday 17th June 2019
What will I study on this course?
- The knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of spirits and liqueurs
- The knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of cocktails
- To provide sufficient practical experience to mix and serve several cocktails
- To appreciate and understand the characteristics of wine and how they relate to food
What Qualification will I gain?
A Highlands College Certificate on completion of the course.
How is the course assessed?
Written assessment on completion of course.
What does this course lead on to?
City & Guilds Certificate/Diploma in Food & Beverage Service (full-time or day release).
