Jersey Passport to Safety
Highlands College is a designated assessment centre for the Jersey Building and Allied Trades Employers Federation (JBATEF) Passport to Safety assessment. This assessment is carried out on Wednesday and Friday by appointment only. The cost for the Passport to Safety is £20.00.
CITB Health and Safety Certificate
Highlands College can offer testing and reassessment for the Construction Industry Training Board Health and Safety Certificate. The cost is £91.00 per assessment, based on a minimum of four people.
The Set Up and Safe Use of Power Tools
This City and Guilds certificated course is designed to provide training in the setting up and safe use of portable power tools.

Safe Use of Abrasive Wheels
This certificated course provides an update on the legislation covering the selection and fitting of abrasive wheels. The course covers the selection, mounting and safe handling of abrasive wheels types - Straight sided, Depressed Centres, Grinding and Cut off Wheels. Candidates are trained in accordance with Regulation 9 of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.

C&G Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations Update (BS7671: January 2008) 2382-20
This short course is for people who have already completed the 2381 16th edition qualification.
C&G Certificate for the Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment 2377-200
This two-day course is for people who carry out portable appliance testing and wish to gain a recognised qualification. You will study the theory behind why appliances need regular inspections and tests and the practical aspects of portable appliance testing.
Entry Requirements
No formal electrical qualifications are required. However experience and prior knowledge of the electrical industry and electrical circuits would be an advantage.
C&G Certificate in Inspection and Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations 2391-20
This 14-week course is for qualified electricians already working in the industry who wish to extend their qualifications and who have had some practical experience of inspection and testing. You will study the theory and practice of inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations.
Entry Requirements
Student must be qualified electricians.

These certificated courses are designed by City & Guilds / Woodwise and provide modular training in the safe use of various fixed woodwork machines.
