Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships can make your organisation more effective, productive and competitive by addressing your skills gaps directly. Highlands works in partnership with a wide range of employers from all the main industries in the Island. Engagement with employers comes in many forms. Full-time students are offered work experience placements in business and the College has designed a wide range of full, part-time, apprenticeship and evening courses in conjunction with employers that enhance the skills of employees.

Carpentry or Joinery
Electricians
Food Preparation
Hairdressing
Mechanical Engineering, Welding and Fabrication
Motor Vehicle Engineering
Painting and Decorating
Plumbing and Heating
Trowel Trades

Employer Accreditation

Before a business can register a potential apprentice on the Jersey Apprenticeship Scheme, there is a requirement for the employer to become accredited. This includes completing the trade specific 'Employer Accreditation Information' document and signing and agreeing the Jersey Apprenticeship Scheme Agreement.
