About Highlands
Welcome to Highlands the Further, Higher and Adult College of the Island of Jersey.
Students are offered a wide range of vocational and leisure courses and the College incorporates the Adult Education Service and is a partner of the universities of Plymouth and London South Bank. As well as offering part-time and evening courses Highlands is the largest sixth form provider in the Island, and works collaboratively with a wide range of organisations including schools, employers, professional bodies, community organisations, the Open University, the Jersey Apprenticeship Council, St Thomas' Church and the Prince's Trust. Over 6,000 people of all ages study here each year.
Highlands is an inclusive institution welcoming students regardless of age, background or previous educational attainment and our mission is to provide lifelong learning opportunities, which enhance student achievement and bring personal and economic success.
The campus has been part of the Island's history since 1881 when a group of French Jesuits bought a property called Highlands in the Parish of St Saviour to establish a naval training college. In 1972 the States of Jersey purchased the site to establish Highlands College.
Highlands' Principal, Professor Edward Sallis OBE, extends a warm welcome to all who visit our website.
